Cookie Policy

Last updated 1 January 2026

This policy follows the cookies step by step through your visit — from the moment you first open the site, through the choices you make, to what stays behind afterwards. SilverPineway, of 2-18-9 Matsugaya, Taito-ku, Tokyo 111-0036, controls the cookies described here.

01

When you first open the site

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. As soon as a SilverPineway page loads, a small set of essential cookies is placed so the site can work — remembering your session and keeping the pages secure. These cannot be switched off because without them the site cannot function.

02

When the banner asks your choice

On your first visit a banner appears asking what you want to allow. Nothing beyond the essential cookies is set until you answer. You may accept everything, reject all but the essentials, or open the settings panel to decide category by category. Your choice is itself remembered in a small cookie so we do not ask again each time.

03

When you allow analytics cookies

If you consent to analytics, we place cookies that count visits and tell us which trail and session pages are read most. This helps us plan more of the walks people want. The data is grouped together and is not used to identify you by name.

04

When you allow marketing cookies

If you consent to marketing cookies, they may be used to show you relevant information about our walks on other sites and to measure whether our messages are useful. These are never set without your clear agreement.

05

The categories we use

We group cookies into three families. Essential cookies keep the site working and your session secure. Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used. Marketing cookies help us reach people who might enjoy a forest walk. Only the first family is always on.

06

Cookies set by our partners

Some cookies are placed by the trusted services we use — our analytics provider and our booking platform. These third parties process the data under their own policies and under contract with us. We do not allow them to use the information for purposes we have not agreed.

07

When you want to change your mind

You can reopen your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" control in the footer of every page. Switch categories on or off, save, and your preference takes effect straight away. You can also clear cookies through your browser's own settings.

08

Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored and delete or block them. Remember that blocking essential cookies will stop parts of this site from working as intended. The help pages of your browser explain exactly how to do this.

09

How this links to your privacy

Where a cookie collects information that relates to you, that information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. The two documents are meant to be read together.

10

When this policy changes

If we add or remove cookies, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change affects what we ask your consent for, the banner will appear again so you can make a fresh choice.

11

Afterwards: how long cookies last

Session cookies are deleted the moment you close your browser. Others last for a set period — from a few days to around a year — after which they expire on their own. Your saved consent is kept only long enough to spare you the banner on every visit, and clearing your cookies resets it.
